Digital Projector Knock Off Lamp Autopsy

Описание к видео Digital Projector Knock Off Lamp Autopsy

In this video about an Optoma HD26,    • Optoma HD26 DLP Projector No Light/Pi...
I received a few of these replacement projector lamp assemblies with no name / knock-off lamps inside. I found that the two no name lamps had a measurable resistance with my Fluke 15B DMM. The resistance was very high, 3-41M ohms. When a known good set of name brand (Philips/Osram) was checked, the resistance was infinite.

The cause of the current flow was the cement used to create the lamps. I am not sure what sort of cement that can be. Maybe it has some impurities?

This is just another reason to never buy off brand lamps from anywhere. These I think came from Amazon but plenty of normal websites sell them without realizing how bad they can be. These lamps damaged a projector.

Please make sure you always buy lamps assemblies with either Philips UHP, Ushio NSH, Osram PVIP, Iwasaki, Phoenix or Matsushita. If there is no real info available be skeptical. Feel free to post here if you aren't sure.

(I don't get the whole surprised-face thing in the thumbnails. YT's AI seems to like it though. I hope the dopey surprised bulb-faces work out.)

Thanks again for watching!
