PO-33 and Tape Loop Ambient - Seaside

Electric guitar was my first love, so I took a break from Microfreak and picked up the strat to make some ambient.

I recorded four tracks on a tape loop, then sampled combinations of those onto the PO-33 KO Pocket Operator. The I recorded four new tracks onto a cassette, and built a little soundscape with those. Something melodic, something washy, and two things in a lower/middle register for a little more foundation.

The PO-33 was playing 8 patterns on the slowest tempo, and I just played in "notes" whenever it felt right in the sequence. Nothing was sequenced beforehand. The samples were pitched up or down an octave, and recorded in a way that the original pitch and the 5th interval worked together. About 2/3rds of the way through the video, I recorded some effects into the sequence, which added a little more movement.

Guitar is being played through Double Barrel, Lucky Cat, Caverns V2, Neuron, and Hall of Fame, then going into the Tascam Porta02. I'm using a volume pedal to control swells and stay in the mix instead of on top of everything.

All audio is routed into NTS-1 for chorus, stereo delay, and hall reverb. Keystep has a blank, 16 step sequence on the slowest tempo, and I'm playing in notes to fill the sequence. I'm using a triangle oscillator with the attack and release set to max, and the filter is at about 50%.
