Two Magic Wands

For my third wood turning and a little more practice, and since my first magic wand (two weeks ago) was a point of contention between my kids, I decided to make two more so I could have one and both kids could have one.

This time I found a wand I liked on Google Image Search and set out to replicate it. The second wand turned out much better than the first, but neither wand has a particularly slim profile at the tip because I don't have any sort of steady rest and my hand wasn't working well enough. I may turn these down later, but since kids are using them, it's probably better to leave them chunky.

The music you hear in the background was something I did explicitly for this video, and it's hard to do fifteen minute songs, so it has a lot of repetition with subtle variations in instrumentation. This should encourage me to make my next video much shorter than fifteen minutes (if stats on the last video didn't convince me with only 7 minutes average view time of about 15).
