I found a cone 6 pottery glaze recipe on Facebook. It did not work as well as I wanted but I saw potential and developed it into something much better. First, I used my Insight-live.com account to assess its chemistry. Then I did the calculations needed to source B2O3 from a frit instead of Gerstley Borate. Then I improved crazing resistance by adding more silica. In the end, I got a transparent glaze that is more durable, more consistent and has better working properties than the original.
