We are thrilled to share this original piece, “Lake in the Woods,” with you today. Written over 40 years ago by our mum at just 17 while seeking sanctuary in the wilderness, Lake in the Woods was a song that shaped our hearts long before we even understood the words. Listening to her original recording on tape when I was only four truly opened my heart... If we can find the original version, we would love to share it with you.

Decades later, we’ve arranged it anew, bringing this timeless piece to life in an acoustic version.

This song is about finding a piece of your soul in nature’s reflections. After many years, we have found our own Lake in the Woods — a sanctuary where we watch the seasons change and live in harmony with the otters, snapping turtles, frogs, and loons. Here, we have learned to make peace with the hidden parts of the soul: a wild womb where lost souls and dark hearts can bloom. Now we know that even in the darkness, we were never really in the dark...
