Quick ride on my buddy James Justice's 23.5 KTM 450 Factory Edition. James just had the suspension done by Factory Connection. I was curious how suspension for a 160lb former Pro rider would work for me (a 195 lb slow Vet rider). I can say it was impressive! Very plush and the AER forks felt smooth and compliant on the bumps. The shock worked well absorbing the acceleration chop. This 23.5 model 450FE did not have a globally firm feel to the chassis(!) like many riders and magazine tests have noted. It felt like the suspension was absorbing the energy and not transmitting it to the rider. Engine was stock with smooth and long pulling power. Has 60hp every been this easy to ride?

This 23/24/24.5 KTM chassis is a great balance of cornering and stability at speed though some riders feels the chassis feels a little stiff. With the Factory Connection suspension work on this 23.5 450FE the chassis felt fine. Looking forward to doing back to back rides comparing this updated 24.5 chassis to a stock 23 KTM 450SXF. I will also do some videos reviewing the CUO and different engine maps (like dialing the 450 back to a 350).
