In part 1 of this series (    • How To Catch Carp 1 - Slack Lines and...   ) Duncan de Gruchy demonstrated how to catch carp using slack lines and running rigs. Here in part 2 Gary Hewes demonstrates how to achieve similar results using tight lines and shocker rigs. Gary is fishing the same spots from the same swim that Duncan fished 3 weeks before.

It just goes to prove that there is often more than one 'best way' to fish a particular spot.

IMPORTANT NOTE; In Gary's rig the bead gives just enough pressure to set the hook and will slide off the back with any kind of wiggle pressure on the lead. This is essential otherwise the rig becomes a death rig - i.e. a rig where it is impossible for the fish to drop the lead if a crack off or line breakage occurred.
