Описание к видео Mainline Steam at Scorton & Forton (2012-2023)

Preserved steam locomotives at speed on the West Coast Mainline around Scorton and Forton, north of Garstang on the largely level stretch from Preston to Lancaster. This section of line borders the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and forms part of a strategic transport corridor including also the A6 and M6, and of more historic importance, the Lancaster Canal. Filmed between 2012 and 2023 (mostly new to YouTube), and featuring the following locomotives:

44932 Black 5
46115 Scots Guardsman
60009 Union Of South Africa
60163 Tornado
46233 Duchess Of Sutherland
45699 Galatea
34046 Braunton
6201 Princess Elizabeth
35018 British India Line
45305 Black 5

The loco's were working a variety of railtours or test runs for West Coast Railways or Locomotive Services Ltd., including Pendle Dalesman, Northern Belle, Lakelander and Fellsman itineraries. The railway here opened in 1846 and was worked by steam loco's up to the late 1960s. Occasional preserved steam workings returned in 1995.
