Authentic Nepali Mutton Pakku (Dashain Special) – Recipe

Mutton (goat meat)

Dry red chilies 🌶️

Black cardamom & green cardamom

Cloves, black pepper, cinnamon sticks, bay leaves

Red chili powder, cumin, coriander powder

Garam masala, turmeric powder, salt, chili flakes

Mustard oil (for that authentic Nepali flavor)

Fresh ginger-garlic paste

✨ Preparation

In a large bowl, add mutton pieces and mix them thoroughly with all the spices, mustard oil, and ginger-garlic paste.

Cover and let it marinate for at least 8 hours (overnight for best flavor).

Transfer the marinated mutton to a heavy-bottomed pot.

Cook it on a very low flame for at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the meat turns tender and the spices infuse beautifully.
