Brazilian Amazon Indigenous Ceremony

Brazil’s Amazonian indigenous people. Many natives still live on the land. They are a river-farming people with expert knowledge of the small rivers, channels and islands along the water.

These villages sustain themselves by selling many things but mainly mandioca flour, ecotourism and fishing.

Originally they had their own language but in the 20th century the official language became Portuguese.

Our awesome lodge @tariri organized this visit. The ceremony was incredible. The indigenous people talked about different aspects of their culture and how they were raised. They played unique handmade musical instruments, danced and sang.

The energy was amazing. I enjoyed the smell of the scented fire and the way the earth vibrated under their stomping feet.

This was a very new experience for our family and we really enjoyed it.

We sold everything and moved our family of 7 from Nevada, USA to Brazil in September 2017.  We came to experience Brazilian culture, learn Portuguese and start a business. We opened a trampoline park called Big Jump USA in Salvador on June 30, 2018 and our second location in Barra da Tijuca, RJ on August 2, 2020.
