About Alaina:
Alaina Musich has been a resident of Monterey County since 2007, and a music teacher in the area since 2009.

A lifelong pianist and poet, Alaina took to songwriting in early high school, and honed her craft throughout her music career playing in several bands, fortified by her study at Berklee College of Music.

Alaina enjoys bringing elements of American Folk tradition and music therapy principles into her writing for the nostalgic tone, as well as the benefit they can subconsciously provide to the listener.
A multi-instrumentalist and recording engineer, she records, mixes, and masters everything heard in her records.

Alaina is also an amateur artist who uses source material and mixed media to create ballpoint pen drawings and collage for her album art across all releases.
Her media choice stems from avid doodling along all her notebook margins in school, and collaging magazines using glue sticks with friends in childhood.

Alaina’s main interest in music study is to pass along the inherent value of critical thinking and objective skill building to her students, enjoying music performance in studio, bands, or solo shows as a side to her career as a music teacher.

Alaina worked as the primary piano and voice teacher at Dennis Murphy School of Music from mid 2012 to early 2023, where she also had the opportunity to create music programs for a large number of public and charter schools across Monterey County.

In February of 2023, she had the opportunity to open her own music studio in Downtown Monterey with an emphasis on young families and developmental learning. Learn more about her business at: www.RosewaterMonterey.org

About the record, Trust:
Alaina had taken a break from songwriting for a few years after the pandemic; the frivolity of most music writing lost its appeal during the hardship of those months and years.

She and her husband faced tremendous upheaval in her small businesses, as many did, and watched many children woefully regress in the school system set up around distanced learning. The night was indeed dark; she felt powerless to the wave of baseless changes surrounding every aspect of life at the time.

These hard moments and failure of the men and women seemingly in charge of our daily lives and livelihoods turned Alaina firmly to God, the only authority who is perfect and true, who will never leave and never fail.

When this creative opportunity arose, she petitioned God to sing through all the skill and experience He has offered into her life - to render her years of creative silence into simple truth anyone can hear and understand.

Without realizing until after the words had been written, this song is the Lord’s message of comfort - His promise that He is divinely in control of all these events, great or small, joyous or sorrowful, forever and ever. That there is none to fear but God Himself, and this beautiful tapestry of creation is for our soul’s benefit, no matter how it appears. How if we can focus on His will and word, we can endure all trials and find gratitude, no matter the circumstance.
