If you get the google play store error 940 while trying to use google play store to download app then let us see how to fix this issue. Now this might be caused due to several reasons such as your phone is running out of space or there might be the problem with google play store itself or you might have the problem with the internet connection. So let us see how to fix the issue. Now the first thing and the basic thing what you have to do is you have to restart your android device. So after you restart the android device the next thing what you have to check is if there is an internet connection in your android device or not and the easiest way to do it is to open a browser and then open any website or open any youtube video. If you find that there is a problem with internet connection in your device then switch off the router wait for few seconds and then switch on the router again so your device should be connected with the internet. Now the third thing what you have to do is you have to check how much of space is left in your device. So go to "settings". Go to "Device care". Go to "storage" here and then it will show you how much of space is left in your android device. For me I have 21.1 gigabyte of space left which is more than enough but for you if it's not there then you have to delete unwanted files from your device. From here you can see which applications or items are taking more space such as for me applications are taking more space and after that videos are taking more space. So you can find what is taking up more space in your device and then you can delete unnecessary things. So once you have done this basic troubleshooting steps what you have to do next is you have to go to the "settings". Scroll down and go to "Apps". Now we will go down and we will look for "Google Play Store". Open it. Go to "storage". Select "clear cache" and then select "clear data". and "OK". So we have cleared the cache files and data for google play store. We will go back again to the apps screen and from here we will do same with "Google Play Services". So open it. Go to "storage"- "clear cache". Go to "manage storage". Select "clear all data" and then okay. So once you clear the cache files and data for google play services we will again go back to this apps screen. Then here we will tap on this three dotted icons. Go to show "system apps" and then we will scroll down and we have to look for an application called "download manager". So this is the application. Open the application. Go to "storage". select "clear cache". select "clear data" and then "ok". So we have cleared the cache files and data for download manager also. So once you have done all of these things check if the google play store error will go away or not. Hopefully this should fix the issue. Thank you for watching this video.
