3 Day National Women’s Parliament (NWP)

Objectives of the National Women’s Parliament (NWP) were to generate new ideas, concepts, theories and ideologies for women empowerment.
The three-day (10–12 March 2017) National Women’s Parliament was organized by Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly with the theme of ‘Empowering Women and Strengthening Democracy in the state capital region Amaravati in the presence of Legendary Guests listed below:-

Actress Manisha Koirala and many more dignitaries with 91 women parliamentarians, 401 legislators, with 300 social and corporate sector women leaders from India and abroad along with 14,700 common women attended the event at Pavitra Sangamam
It was a common platform for every woman from diverse backgrounds like politics, arts and culture, sports, education, industry, media, cinema, judiciary and social sector to share their knowledge and research in the area of women’s social, economic and political empowerment.

The Seven Plenary Sessions at the conclave not only discussed on socio-political challenges but also facilitated the women from all backgrounds and girl students to sensitize the society on issues like malnutrition, social security, sexual harassment, sanitation, oppression and other gender-based problems.
