Jb 1236 & The Whanganui Flyer - January 2018 (HD)

Over Wellington Anniversary Weekend over the 20th & 21st January 2018, Mainline Steam Trust's Plimmerton team ventured to the river city with Jb 1236 and AO class carriages to participate in the Whanganui Vintage Weekend celebrations. At Whanganui, Jb 1236 headed a number of shuttle trains to Eastown & Kai Iwi up the notorious 1 in 35 gradient of Westmere Bank on both days before returning to Wellington. We capture exclusive footage of the excursion heading along the Main Trunk and the Taranaki Line including the Westmere Bank which sees Jb 1236 working very hard. Steam locomotive F 163 was also in steam at the Feilding & Districts Steam Rail Society taking passengers for short rides in the railway yard as part of the Settler's Day celebrations on the Saturday.
