The most dangerous road in the world, the “Death Road”, runs for a distance of around 65 kilometers from the cold, dry Altiplano near La Paz to the warm, moist rainforest of the Yungas Valleys with an altitude difference of 3,450 meters along the almost vertically sloping mountain sides of the Cordillera Real.

La carretera más peligrosa del mundo, la “Camino de la Muerte”, recorre unos 65 kilómetros desde el frío y seco altiplano cerca de La Paz hasta la cálida y húmeda selva tropical de los valles de los Yungas, ascendiendo a 3.450 metros de altitud.

Die gefährlichste Straße der Welt, die „Todesstraße“, verläuft auf einer Strecke von rund 65 Kilometern vom kalten, trockenen Altiplano bei La Paz bis in den warmen, feuchten Regenwald der Yungas-Täler entlang der fast senkrecht abfallenden Bergflanken der Cordillera Real und überwindet dabei 3450 Höhenmeter.

A "halál útja", vagyis a világ egykor legveszélyesebb útja a La Paz melletti hideg, kopár Altiplanótól a Yungas-völgyek meleg, párás esőerdeiig vezet le minket. A mintegy 65 kilométeres távon elképesztő, 3450 méteres magasságkülönbséget veszítünk, miközben a Cordillera Real csaknem függőleges lejtői mentén kerékpározunk.
