Chair of the Department of Urology at NYU Langone Medical Center, Dr. Herbert Lepor is a world renowned leader in the treatment of prostate cancer. Born in Brooklyn, Dr. Lepor tells of his family's escape from Russia to Rumania and finally to the United States. Dr. Lepor is well-known as the co-author of the paper describing surgery to remove the cancer portion of the prostate without affecting surrounding tissue.
