Hey 3D & DIY crew—Ep.6 of our “3D Print - Grind - Shine” series is here, and we’re getting hands-on with a big project: building my very own 3D-printed sanding belt machine! ⚙ Spoiler: It’s not finished yet… but we’re halfway there, and that’s still a win, right?

Let’s break it down: I modeled this sanding belt machine from scratch, printed all the small parts… and y’all know how 3D prints go—some pieces had tiny flaws, rough edges, and little bumps that would’ve messed up the assembly. Cue my Hardell grinder: a few quick passes smoothed out every imperfection, made the parts fit together like a glove, and turned “this might not work” into “wait, that actually clicks!”

Right now, it’s a semi-finished build—all the grinding and assembly of the core parts are done, but the full, working sanding belt machine? That’s coming in the next video. I wanted to share this “in-between” step because let’s be real: DIY projects aren’t always perfect, and fixing those small kinks is where the fun (and the skill!) happens.
