Synopsis: Late Babu Vishwanath in his will left all his properties to his eldest son Gopinath (Abhi Bhattacharya), leaving nothing for his good-for-nothing younger son Shibu, born to his second wife. Shibu's mother (Durga Khote) had no issues with this arrangment as she loved her stepson Gopinath like her own son. Gopinath too loved his stepbrother Shibu dearly and destoryed the will, a gesture known only to his wife Rukmini. But scheming uncle Kashinath made sure that Shibu would keep hating and resenting his elder brother. Shibu fell in love with Rukmini's cousin, Kasturi (Shakila), but her father barrister Manekchand had already promised her hand to someone else. Gopinath tried to persuade Manekchand on behalf of his brother, but Shibu misunderstood his intentions and accused Gopinath of being in love with Kasturi. Gopinath could not bear this assault on his character, and hence he gave his ancentral house and properties to Shibu and left with wife Rukmini and their child. Did the brothers ever reconcile?
