This video is an attempt at demystifying the number 108, from a scientific perspective. Throughout the ages, ancient Hinduism has stressed upon the importance of 108 in a myriad of spiritual ceremonies- like the number of times one chants a mantra, the number of tangible methods to employ in order to attain enlightenment in Yoga, the number of temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu, or the number of attendees Lord Shiva has. From the number of beads in a Rudraksha Mala, the importance of this number has been stressed upon in every nuance of Indian culture since time immemorial. What's intriguing is that certain mathematical and spacial denotations about the nature of the Universe have been made with utter precision and careful insight to the scale, on being authenticated by modern scientific tools and apparatuses. What is astounding is that certain worldview altering statements, like- the only reason for simple and complex life systems to coexist and evolve on the planet, is because of inferences considering spacial distance and relationships which couldn't be possibly made without the relevant measuring tools to begin with, at a primitive time. The distance between the earth and the sun and it's proportion to the distance between the earth and the moon has to do with the number 108, even when modern calculations are considered. This is the reason why there is an equal 12 hour distribution of day and night time, and the reason why the size of both heavenly bodies looks the same from Earth, furthering the actuality of 108 being the proportion and frequency for the possibility of life to unfurl. As cases with reference to other planets' relationship to their moons and the Sun are also considered in detail in these ancient accounts, and plausible explanations as to why they aren't suitable for harbouring life for factual reasons. Complex relationships to do with gravity, axial tilts of planets as a result of the influence of their moons, to seasons, suitable temperatures for life to thrive, these ancient accounts have a far better insight into such phenomenon. Did we have advanced interstellar beings in our midst who were romanticised as gods? Did we have superior technology because of their command over universal laws? Compelling research is suggesting that modern humans have been around for more than 200,000 years, and procession cycles have been tilting the axis by 12 degrees every 25,000 years and influencing complexity of consciousness and perception by progressing through the 4 cycles or Yugas, again and again and again.
