According to CBS insider Jonathan Jones, the ruling falls under “conduct detrimental,” which voids at least $45 million in future guarantees from Metcalf’s $132M contract.
That includes $25M in guarantees for 2026…
and another $20M that was injury-protected for 2027.

The incident started when Metcalf appeared to swing toward a Lions fan.
The fan claims he only shouted DK’s full name.
But people close to Metcalf say the fan insulted his mother and used a word “you don’t call a Black man.”

He wasn’t ejected because officials never saw it — but the league reviewed the video and delivered the suspension.

Now Pittsburgh is fighting for playoff position without their No. 1 receiver.
And the Steelers can walk away from his contract much more easily in the future.
