South African pace legend Allan Donald feels Virat Kohli retired from Test cricket a little early, saying the Indian star still has the hunger and fitness to continue till the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Donald, who worked with Kohli as bowling coach at Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2014-15, praised Kohli’s unmatched training habits and work ethic, calling him “a machine”.

Donald also backed South Africa’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup and hailed the growing success of the SA20 league, saying it has an IPL-like atmosphere and will keep getting bigger.
