The Outside Capering Crew "Broom Dance and reprise" 30th September 2023 - Morris dancers in Ludlow

The Crew's musicians have to concentrate as Simon tries out a few experimental figures off the back of his broom dance - or to put it another way, Simon throws a few moves (and you can read that two ways - both accurate).

The Outside Capering Crew presents morris dance for the 21st century: sometimes flashy, sometimes comic, and always with exhilarating music.
Our eclectic repertoire includes broom dances (tricky spins, throws and kick-ups) and brain-bending “bacca pipes” jigs – England’s answer to the Scottish sword dance, but more edgy. It’s all served up with a dash of showmanship (and a very silly horse. Or maybe a cow).
We’ve performed in America, Dubai, Sark and mainland Europe, and at major UK folk festivals.

The Morris Federation Day of Dance 2023 and the Morris Federation's AGM on Saturday 30 September. Some Morris sides were dancing in Bishop's Castle and some in Ludlow.
