Movie Rating: 7/10. Read caption for more: Master is now streaming on Amazon. Though it is not available in Hindi the movie is quite enjoyable. I anyways prefer to watch movies with the original audio. The movie works mainly because of Vijay and Vijay. Yes, the real name of our hero and villain is Vijay, and man, they are the powerhouse of this movie.

Master equally focuses on the hero as well as the villain. Master is about JD our hero. An alcoholic college professor teaching personality development. Master is also about Bhavani, a criminal who works hard to build his empire.

You need a great villain to see a great hero and that’s exactly what this movie has to offer. I was surprised to see a background story of our villain. It may confuse you as we always expect such narration for our hero. Not in this movie. The makers have spent the time to build the powerful villain to add more substance. This is one of the main reasons why I like this movie. On the other hand, our Hero has no background story and also, makes did not show a single reason for his insane popularity in college. He is just popular.

There is no overdose of slow-motion shots and insane fight scenes where our hero is spinning and throwing goons like a ball and also, no heavy-duty dialogues.

I also notice that our hero drinks a lot but our villain is a teetotaller. Both of them are interested in politics. The main strength for both of them is violence. However, our hero is loved and our villain is feared.

There are some issues as well. The total duration of the movie is 2hrs 57mins. There is no powerful role for our female lead. The climax looks a little weak. And there is no Hindi audio:(

In the end, Master is fun. No way close to becoming perfect but enjoyable.
