RetroTink 5X-PRO Test - Original Xbox

Описание к видео RetroTink 5X-PRO Test - Original Xbox

Decided to do some test recordings with my recently acquired RetroTink 5X. First I used the console I'd obviously use most with it, my original Xbox. The video has been upscaled to 4K from the original 1080p recording just to preserve as much video quality as I can on YouTube. Vegas encoded at a lower bitrate than I would've liked, but I'm too lazy to reencode at a higher quality lmao.

Everything was recorded using 1080p fill mode with minimal picture adjustments to fit the screen (even scaling is not much of a concern with me for 3D games).

Some notes:
480i is already a bit of a tricky signal to deal with, but on the original Xbox it's especially awful. Raised blacks and video noise are constant, and most (but not all) games have an ugly anti-flicker filter put onto them when run in 480i.
The video noise confuses me, as every other resolution gets a completely clean signal out of my Xbox with a Wii2Xbox and HD Retrovision Wii component cables, and I haven't seen anyone else bring up the raised blacks while using 480i on an Xbox. It's definitely not the fact that it's 480i, as my PS2 and Gamecube both look great deinterlaced through the 5X, it's just the Xbox that's problematic.
Thankfully most Xbox games are 480p or higher, but there are a select few that are 480i-only, including Spongebob: Battle For Bikini Bottom, which is a game I play a lot. Doesn't help that I have a v1.6 console, meaning that a very select few games like Panzer Dragoon Orta (which I really want to play) and Wreckless: The Yakuza Missions (which I own) are completely broken in 480p and require me to disable 480p at a system level for them to display a stable image.

Games:
0:00 Xbox Menu (480i intro/480p menu, 16:9)
1:28 Sonic Heroes (480p, 4:3)
9:13 Shadow the Hedgehog (480p, 4:3)
16:38 Sonic Riders (480p, 4:3)
19:23 SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle For Bikini Bottom (480i, 4:3)
26:27 Burnout 3: Takedown (480p, 16:9 with overscan compensation)
