The Replacements | I'll Be You (1989)

The bad-boy punk rockers from Minneapolis inadvertently ushered in a new brand of rock that would ultimately be called Alternative Rock – a new genre that dominated my college days. Paul Westerberg (lead singer/songwriter), known for being both the Replacements frontman and a great solo artist helped define the times with hits such as "Waiting for Somebody", "Dyslexic Heart", "Can't Hardly Wait", "Bastards of Young" and this hit - "I'll Be You". My band played the hell out of this song in our shows between 1989 and 1993. It's just a fun, all-out rock song that brings back great memories of playing live.
