In the years before 2009, Panna Tiger Reserve used to boast of more than 40 Bengal Tigers, but by 2009, except for arguably one tiger, Panna had lost all its Tigers to causes related to humans. The Alarm bells rang. That is when this story begins-the story of HOPE for the globe, especially in these times of species extinction and climate emergency. An audacious plan was worked out for the reintroduction of Bengal Tigers in Panna Tiger Reserve.That was when Mr.R.SREENIVASA MURTHY IFS, currently the Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest was appointed the Field Director of PANNA TIGER RESERVE and under his watch and vision, the historic work began and also the real challenges faced by Mr.MURTHY and his team, which eventually resulted in the settling of the introduced tigers and new cubs for the tiger reserve. During these days Mr.MURTHY and his team would even spent many nights in the tiger tracking vehicles. Then began the task of inspiring people living around the park towards conservation.Panna Tiger Reserve's current Field Director Mr.KRISHAN SINGH BHADUARIA is actually involving villagers in the conservation process. He says that if people are sensitized to wildlife and forests then wildlife crimes would not occur. He has also taken up initiatives for water availability for wild animals across Panna Tiger Reserve.It is for the first time that the celebrated story of the return of tigers to Panna Tiger Reserve is being presented at the scale and length of the 4K UHD Blue-chip 2 part docu-Series EMERALD FOREST-THE RETURN OF TIGERS.
