Hi folks!

Welcome along on my newest overnight camping adventure. This time, I am testing my new hammock, the Lesovik Draka, in the beautiful Kurjenrahka National Park in SW Finland.

Kurjenrahka boasts one of the largest protected marsh areas in SW Finland and is home to grey wolves, brown bears, and lynx. Another feature is the primeval forest (in Finnish, aarnimetsä), which means the forest is left to grow completely undisturbed. Some areas have not seen any trees felled for over 150 years.

Leaving the car park at Takapiha, Saksala, I hiked the Pukkipalo Trail to the Takaniitunvuori campsite. Here, I lit a fire, cooked food on a Trangia Triangle, and set up my hammock and tarp shelter for the night. The trip's highlight happened around midnight when the quiet forest was suddenly filled with the eerie noise of wolf howls! I was so startled I forgot to record it! First, one lone voice, then the rest joined in. It's one thing to hear wolves howling in a film or a nature documentary; it's a different experience to hear it when camping alone in a dark, primeval forest at night! It was eerie and wonderful!

For the record, I purchased all of the gear in my videos with my own money, and my opinions on them are solely mine.

The footage was filmed with a GoPro 11.

Come along with me on my next adventure! You are most welcome! Check out my other videos, maybe click the like button, and consider subscribing.

All the best, Kevin. :-)
