Gum disease is not just “bad breath” or a dental issue. It’s a chronic inflammatory problem driven by bacteria, plaque biofilm, and constant reseeding from the tongue, pockets, and gumline. In this video I break down what gum disease actually is, why it’s so common, and why it can flare even when you think you’re doing everything right.

Then we get into the interesting part: red light and near-infrared light (photobiomodulation). This is not a “burn the bacteria with a laser” idea. It’s a low-energy signaling effect that can help calm inflammation and support tissue healing. The research trend (not perfection, not magic) is that when photobiomodulation is used as an add-on to standard dental care like scaling and root planing, many studies show improvements in bleeding and inflammation, and in some cases better pocket-depth outcomes.

Think of it as an adjunct that helps gums heal better and stay calmer between visits, especially if you’re prone to bleeding and inflammation.
