A group of teenage boys demonstrated bravery and selflessness when they broke into a neighbor's burning home while it was empty to save their two dogs.

The teenagers said they jumped into action as soon as they noticed that nobody was coming out of the burning home, with the fire spreading quickly and intensely.

"Without a second thought we just jumped the fence, got going down there, see what we could do," one of the boys told reporters.

"When we got down there the propane tanks exploded," said another.

"We see a truck in the driveway, we don't see anybody coming out," said the third. "Somebody could be asleep. Our first thought is, 'Oh crap, there's somebody in there.'"

The boys peeked in through the house's windows and spotted a dog, but no people. The teenagers immediately chose to save the dog, saying that they would want someone to do the same for them. The group hurried to the front door and two of them worked together to kick it down, as seen on the home's doorbell camera.

Within seconds, the boys managed to rescue both of the dogs from the blaze and get them to safety. Luckily, the house was empty aside from the dogs.

Another neighbor, Jayden Sessions, said he heard the fire before he saw it.

"I was just kind of doing random yard work," Sessions remembered. "I heard like a whishing sound from the back of their house."

As soon as he spotted the blaze, he ran over and tried to help.

"I did run over here, you know, and yelled, 'Fire! Fire!'" Sessions said.

He said he was moved by how the neighbors were so willing to help the affected family.

"Everyone was out, everyone was coming to make sure everyone was okay," Sessions said.

The teenagers said that they would do it all again in a heartbeat.

"How thankful the family was, kind of made you feel good inside," one of the boys said.
