ORIGINAL INFO: The strangest superheoes of all! ...And by strangest, I mean arrestable.

RUMINATIONS: Not much else to say at this point when it comes to the secret origins stuff other than repeating what I’ve said before – the original idea of including Linkara’s origins, wanting to explore the goofy gold and silver age books that shaped this stuff… Well, I guess I could say that I wanted each year to cover a team book, but that has never been really followed all that strictly. I will say that I want to at least feature the hero on the show first before I get into their origins. While I do have a lot of superhero comic fans who watch the show, there are just as many non-fans who watch it who have never heard of half the characters I’ve reviewed and thus are genuinely interested in their original stories, so looking at ones that can be considered a weeeee bit more obscure is always tricky. I eventually did Ant-Man’s origins in one… and of course nobody cared about Ant-Man’s origins since he hasn’t been in any of the Avengers movies yet.

But hey, the X-Men sure have! And I really need to get around to watching First Class and Days of Future Past. It’s just the X-Men movies have always been more than a little silly to me despite their constant attempts to NOT be silly. It’s always an issue with superhero movies. LET them be silly. People come for the superheroes – not because you’ve crafted some elaborate Greek tragedy. The more you try to act mature, the less mature you look.
