It's time for Pico to be his own squirrel.
He took his time getting ready
and now it's finally time for us
to take a step back and
let his natural instincts kick in.
When he's finally comfortable
with his new surroundings,
he will gain his confidence
and he become more active.
Then, it's time to say our goodbye
and hope nature will take good care of him.
We have done our part and we
only borrowed him for a short
but precious moment.
The phrase
(if you love someone, set them free)
has never been more true
than when you rescue wildlife.
It's my pleasure and a great honor,
to be their host and mentor for a little while.
Tomorrow, Pico will be ready
for his first great adventure and we,
we will be there to wave him off.
