The past, present and the future of SLAAS. This video is created for the 75th Anniversary and presented at the 75th Anniversary Commemorative Function.

The Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science (SLAAS) is the premier scientific body in the country, founded in 1944 and incorporated by the Act of Parliament No 11 of 1966. SLAAS has a membership of nearly five thousand ranging from recent graduates to leading scientists of the country representing all branches of science-pure, applied and social, in universities, research institutes and industry.
SLAAS carries out its functions under a strategic plan formulated in line with its mandate, with a well-timed vision: “Scientifically Advanced Nation” , and mission; “To promote, support and foster scientific endeavor and technological innovation in an ethical, humane and sustainable
manner for the benefit of the people in Sri Lanka”.
In order to celebrate 75 years of service excellence (1944-2019) in advancing and promoting science by SLAAS in Sri Lanka, the SLAAS Council developed this brief commemorative video.
