How to fix P2101 Code: Throttle Actuator "A" Control Motor Circuit Range/Performance
A P2101 code is set when the computer (ECM/PCM) detects the throttle is not in the expected position.

The Throttle Actuator is a DC motor controlled by the computer (ECM/PCM/TAC) that opens and shuts the throttle body plate (butterfly).

The Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) is all the components involved, including wiring, DC motor, butterfly, sensors, and computer (ECM/PCM/TAC)

If the throttle body is replaced, it may have a Throttle Relearn procedure.

Causes of the P2101 code include a bad accelerator pedal position sensor, faulty throttle position sensor, malfunctioning throttle control motor, and issues with the PCM or wiring.

Possible Causes of a P2101 Code:
Wiring (Open / Short / Bad Connections)
Dirty Throttle Body (Needs Cleaned)
Bad Throttle Body (Needs Replaced)
Bad TAC Module (Some Vehicles the Actuator is Controlled by the ECM or PCM)
Bad Throttle Position Sensor or Pedal Position Sensor (Will Usually Get Another Code)
