The future, our future, is merry and bright!

We are landowners! We want to thank you and celebrate with you this season of gratitude. We are thrilled to announce that we bought 3 acres of land in Bulamungi, Iganga, Uganda! The land is lush and fertile and will take your breath away. We are already starting to plant maize (70% of our family's diet), beans, and cassava, slowly becoming more sustainable and self-sufficient by growing some of our food. However, we can only build on the land once we clear the loan of $4,500 or $375 a month for 12 months.

We have 36 registered kids of Uganda Generation Hope, but we feed about 50-60 children daily. Our current space is pretty compact, all our kids share beds, and our lease ends at the end of this month. We found a more suitable and spacious rental property to accommodate everyone while we develop our land at $350 a month or $4,200 for the year. It's $2,745 for five bunk beds, 15 mattresses, and blankets. Our children have five caretakers who have devoted their lives to loving vulnerable children that have no one else to turn to, and we'd like to compensate them for their time and work at $400 a month or $4,800 for this season and the upcoming year.

We will always struggle for progress, but for the first time, we have a place of our own to lay down roots that will stretch and impact generations. Our short-term vision is to build a children's shelter and resource center. To be a safe place for the kids to call home, receive resources, learn, and have a childhood as we partner with the community to alleviate some of the components that fuel poverty while focusing on family reunification and strengthening long-term.

We have big dreams, but this is the first step.

Our children deserve to have their basic needs met, their beds, and a safe place to play and grow.
