The wildly romantic cascade gorge or Cascade near Sandberg is worth a visit at any time of the year. Not far from the Sandberg district of Gersfeld, the “Cascade”- traversed by a very beautiful hiking trail, which is quite adventurous to walk on.
The path leads along the Feldbach through the beech forest. You will see the mesmerizing red sandstone steps with their small waterfalls again and again. If you hike up the cascade gorge, you will reach the red moor directly. From the Red Moor over the Wasserkuppe and then back through the Cascade to the Bergbund Hütte.
