You made it to the ULTIMATE GOAT AP CALCULUS AB PRACTICE TEST!!! I made this test by taking problems from the official CollegeBoard AP Calculus AB practice tests and slightly manipulated each problem to make them different. I'm no hero, just a humble math teacher trying to make a few dollars on the internet.
What’s on the AP Calculus AB Exam?
The AP Calculus AB exam includes the following topics:
*Limits and Continuity*
Defining limits, estimating limits from graphs and tables, applying the Squeeze Theorem, and identifying discontinuities.
*Differentiation: Basic Rules*
Defining and estimating derivatives, applying the Power Rule, Product Rule, Quotient Rule, and derivatives of constants, sums, differences, trigonometric functions, \( e^x \), and \( \ln x \).
*Differentiation: Composite, Implicit, and Inverse Functions*
Applying the Chain Rule, implicit differentiation, and differentiating inverse functions.
*Contextual Applications of Differentiation*
Interpreting derivatives in real-world contexts, using related rates, and applying L’Hopital’s Rule.
*Analytical Applications of Differentiation*
Understanding and applying the Mean and Extreme Value Theorems, finding global and local extrema, and solving optimization problems.
*Integration and Accumulation of Change*
Understanding the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, finding antiderivatives, and solving definite integrals using substitution and other methods.
*Differential Equations*
Modeling with differential equations, verifying solutions, sketching slope fields, and using separation of variables.
*Applications of Integration*
Finding the average value of a function, connecting position, velocity, and acceleration, and calculating areas and volumes.

Exam Format
The AP Calculus AB exam is 3 hours long with two sections:
| Section | Timing | Number of Questions | % of Exam Score |
|---------------|--------------------|----------------------------------------------|-----------------|
| *Section 1* | *Part A:* 60 minutes | *30 multiple-choice questions* (No calculator) | *50%* |
| | *Part B:* 45 minutes | *15 multiple-choice questions* (Calculator allowed) | |
| *Section 2* | *Part A:* 30 minutes | *2 free-response questions* (Calculator allowed) | *50%* |
| | *Part B:* 60 minutes | *4 free-response questions* (No calculator) | |
---
Multiple-Choice
The multiple-choice questions cover various topics, with five answer choices for each. Some may appear similar to common mistakes to test understanding.
---
Free-Response Questions (FRQ)
The free-response section consists of six questions requiring detailed solutions. Partial credit is given, and one question may require a graph sketch.
