There is something special about Calico Bass Kayak Fishing the Long Beach Breakwall. Its just a cool place with a cool backdrop. With all of the cargo ships, on a normal year cruise ships, and private boaters, its just a fun place.
Kayak fishing along the breakwall can be excellent. Calico Bass, Sand Bass and Spotted Bay Bass can be found along the wall. You can also nab halibut and the occasional yellowtail will be breezing close by. Enjoying all this while blasting some tunes on the Scosche Boombottle makes for a great morning.
In this video, I take the Riot Mako 12 Kayak out to the wall and do some fishing. The bite was good and I managed a couple of chunky calico bass. They bit best on the FishLab Bio-Minnow Swimbaits. These little baits are incredible.
