Why Bill Gates Has More Invested In Apple Than Microsoft - How Money Works

Описание к видео Why Bill Gates Has More Invested In Apple Than Microsoft - How Money Works

Bill gates has significantly more money invested in Apple than he does in Microsoft.

That’s right, despite being the founder of trillion dollar software company, Bill Gates is no longer the companies CEO, or even their biggest investor.

Since 1995 he has slowly sold his holdings in Microsoft with a lot of the proceeds going to his charity work and whatever is leftover being reinvested through a New York based investment firm that exists exclusively to manage Bills personal fortune.

Its notable investment include a 71% stake in the Four Seasons Hotel chain, 270,000 acres of farmland and a 4% stake in Berkshire Hathaway, the investment company run by bills long-time friend Warren Buffet.

That 4% stake in Berkshire represents almost half of Bills Assets under management, and almost half of Berkshire Hathaway’s assets under management are Apple Shares.

At current values that would mean that Gates owns about 22 billion dollars’ worth of Microsoft stock, and indirectly owns 30 billion dollars’ worth of Apple stock.
