Most common eye injuries - Dr. Sriram Ramalingam

The most common being superficial corneal injuries called as corneal abrasions. This can occur because of any superficial injuries like a pencil or a paper entering the eye. The most dangerous type of eye injuries are because of exposure to chemicals like acids or alkali. The most commonest being alkali and the most commonest of the alkali burns are what is called as a calcium or what is used in by most of the people. They are the most devastating injuries which can be avoided. Other type of eye injuries are foreign bodies entering the eye, maybe during work like a welder, or while travelling in a two wheeler without proper protection to the eye. So eye injuries can be easily avoided or prevented by using proper gears while driving or while working.
