After the Battle of Haldighati in 1576, Maharana Pratap continued his guerrilla warfare against the Mughals. In 1578, the Battle of Mohi took place, where Maharana Pratap, with the help of Bhati Rajputs, killed over 3,000 Muslim soldiers led by Mughal commander Mujahid Beg. Mujahid Beg sent a messenger to Raja Man Singh, who was 20 miles away, requesting reinforcements. However, Raja Man Singh killed the messenger and turned away, heading into the forest.
This raises the question: if Raja Man Singh wanted to help, why did he accept Akbar’s sovereignty in the first place?

1. Stability and Security of the Kingdom: Akbar was a powerful Mughal emperor. By forming an alliance with him, Raja Man Singh protected his kingdom and subjects from potential war and destruction.
2. Military and Administrative Experience: By serving under Akbar, Raja Man Singh gained valuable insights into the Mughal Empire's administrative and military systems.
Although some people criticized this decision as a blow to Rajput pride, it ultimately proved to be a wise move for the long-term security and development of his kingdom and religion.
