Tech Ethicist David Ryan Polgar discusses teen suicide prevention, mental health, and how social media can play a positive role while introducing participants to the 2018 Social Media Safety in Schools Event in San Francisco, California on 1/17/2018.

The core focus of the one-day event was preventing teen suicide with social media. Over 50 participants came together to learn about the issue and then collaborate to take steps towards better solutions.

David Ryan Polgar is a writer, speaker, and researcher on the impact of social media and tech. He is a contributing writer for Quartz, Big Think, and IBM Think Leaders and the co-host of Funny as Tech. With a background as attorney and an educator, along with experience working with social media companies, he is able to take a multidisciplinary approach to our evolving use of technology. He recently launched Humanizing Your Brand with digital ad agency IMRE. Polgar is currently the head of Trust & Safety for the social messaging platform Friendbase. Polgar is the co-founder of the Digital Citizenship Summit.
