Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma took oath as a new government took office. Sangma’s NPP emerged as the single largest party with 26 seats and is supported by the BJP and some other local outfits. Sangma has the support of 45 MLAs. PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah both attended the swearing-in ceremony in Shillong.
