47 year old man with chronic hepatitis B presented with a massive 13 cm right lobe primary liver cancer. Selective TACE (Transarterial Chemoembolisation) was performed to treat the tumour with good response. Right portal vein embolisation (PVE) was performed to deprive the right lobe blood flow and divert the blood to the healthy left lobe enabling it to hypertrophy. Post PVE, left lobe volume increased by 30% and he underwent successful extended right lobectomy and has remained disease free for the last 1 year on follow up, demonstrating excellent long-term local control and outcome.
