Considering I'm practically smelling the hate comments, I'll say three things that may keep them at bay:
1. This is obviously fake and everyone is aware of that. Don't point it out.
2. No one cares about your position in regards of a BR remake or remakes in general.
3. Re-read the previous two.
With that out of the way, let's begin. Okay, so I had never done this before, though I had been meaning to (I wanted an "Evangelion" live action recut), and had had this idea for a good while. I soon found that recuting these trailers is very enjoyable and somewhat easy (this is the fastest, I think, I've put a video together: only two and a half days, which is good considering how much work it is; ripping DVDs, creating titles, effects, etc., etc.).
So this is basically an imaginary trailer for a hypothetical American remake of the awesome Japanese movie "Battle Royale". Although it is one of my all time favorite movies, I'm one of the few fans, if not the only one, who thinks an American remake could be fun on a bun. In the end, I really liked the outcome with the exception of the awkward transition between the bus bits at the beginning and the island bits. Hard. Oh, and the IGN watermark, but I can't bitch too much about that. IGN is the only place where I can actually DOWNLOAD the damn trailers, so good for them. I wasn't always planning to use that Nightwish song, but I remember hearing it the first time years ago and going "OMG those lyrics totally go with BR!". Besides, I like the song. Screw yourself.
I particularly liked the title card (though the actual presentation is lackluster) and the 'Roster' effect, which I thought was a cool idea. If you're wondering whose pictures those are, it's (clockwise, starting from the top left): Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jena Malone, Owen Wilson (yearbook photo), Matthew McConaughey (yearbook photo), Kristen Bell, Teddy Dunn, Kristen Stewart and Michael Cera. Notice how the two actors among these six I dislike, are dead. LOL creative freedom.
I'm also aware that Joseph "Awesome" Gordon-Levitt isn't in this trailer at all. I was planning to use bits from "Killshot" and "Brick", but in the end couldn't. I didn't delete his name because having it anywhere makes it immediately awesome.
Enjoy.
