O Gauge Live Steam: Wiltshire 2024

Описание к видео O Gauge Live Steam: Wiltshire 2024

At the start of July I opened my garden railway for live steam running. The day started in light rain but ended in glorious sunshine. It was also a blustery day throughout, hence the wind noise. Despite that we all had great fun.

Of note is some very long freight trains snaking round the various S curves. Also double headed NER 0-8-0s. There is also good representation of passenger trains.

The video is topped and tailed by my favourite passenger engine - NER class R. This model is battery powered and was made by Christopher Dean.

This steaming is in memory of my long time friend David Meyrick who died earlier in the year. You will see many videos of live steam running from his extensive garden railway. He was always so open with offering us the opportunity to run on Earlstone - even up to 3 times in a year. Indeed my open day 6th July was the date David had chosen for his early summer opening.

Rest in Peace my good friend.
