Israel Moves Toward Ceasefire with Lebanon as Hezbollah Fires Over 300 Rockets | Firstpost America

Israel has reportedly agreed to a US-backed ceasefire in Lebanon after Hezbollah fired over 300 rockets targeting Haifa, Tel Aviv and Ashdod Naval base. The truce proposal has been accepted by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu; however, Israel says some conditions are still yet to be agreed upon. Meanwhile, Hezbollah and Israel traded severe blows over the weekend. Israeli jets pounded Lebanon’s capital Beirut, killing at least 29, while Hezbollah launched a major attack across Israel. Meanwhile, The European Union has extended its support to the US-backed ceasefire and has called for an “immediate ceasefire” in the region. Lebanon has also accepted the terms of the ceasefire, however, a final confirmation from Hezbollah is yet to be announced.
