Waking up to the crisp mountain air in Pahalgam, I set out for a day of exploration, starting with Chandanwari, the gateway to the Amarnath Yatra. The scenic drive winds through pine-covered slopes and the Lidder River’s glacial blue waters. As I step out, the chilly breeze and snow-capped peaks make for a mesmerizing backdrop. A short walk along the icy streams and boulder-strewn landscape offers breathtaking photo opportunities.

As the sun starts setting, I return to Pahalgam’s local market, a charming cluster of shops selling Kashmiri handicrafts, Pashmina shawls, and intricately carved walnut wood items. I sip on a cup of traditional Kahwa tea while browsing for souvenirs, indulging in local dry fruits and saffron. The vibrant energy of the market, combined with the warmth of the locals, makes for a perfect end to the day.
