This episode covers the short career of Captain Bartholomew Roberts who ransacked the Caribbean over a three year period from 1719-1722. He raided the West Coast of Africa in 1721 and the next year was hunted down and found by the HMS Swallow, captained by Chaloner Ogle. In the confrontation Roberts was killed and his death is seen by many to mark the end of the Golden Age of Piracy
