Syracuse Police have had recent conversations with Destiny USA ownership to improve security after a 14-year-old allegedly fired a gun last month, missing the people he was aiming for and striking a trash can.

CNY Central requested overall crime data at the mall over the past five years. Syracuse Police Chief Joseph Cecile said that the numbers support the idea that past and present security measures have worked, even though numbers are beginning to tick back up.
