Saguaros can grow up to 60 ft tall and live for 200 years! Sadly, this Saguaro fell ill to a nasty infection called bacterial necrosis. This disease rots the tissues of the plant, beginning with dark spots on the flesh and eventually to rotten wounds that ooze out a dark smelly fluid. As you can see, this Saguaro was left untreated and showed an ample amount of infection from the inside out.
